Finding Meaning in a Collapsing World, Who Do You Want to Be in All of This?

In this TED talk, we’re invited to look squarely at the reality of collapse & what it means to live meaningfully in a world where overlapping crises like climate breakdown, AI acceleration, nuclear threat, political turmoil & fragile economic systems are converging. Rather than turn away, Sarah Wilson explores how facing the brutal truths of our time can open us to deeper questions: What truly matters? Who do we want to be as everything unravels? The message here is not about despair but about stepping into adulthood, into responsibility, into connection with each other & the living world. It is an invitation to let collapse simplify us, to strip away what does not matter, & to root back into love, nature & community.
