LIGHT/DARK MODE

ABOUT

ABOUT

Homer City Mutual Aid & Arts Collective is a flat, self-governing grassroots collective focused on creativity, mutual support, & community-driven action. We are committed to encouraging creative expression & building meaningful relationships while supporting community development through shared projects & mutual care. Based in Homer City, we welcome participation from folks across Indiana County & beyond.

Our big dream goal is to create a creative community center where people can gather, collaborate, & share. The center would serve as a hub for creative projects, educational opportunities, mutual aid efforts, & a wide range of community events aimed at shaping a more inclusive, connected, & creative world.

If you are interested in helping make this happen, or if you have your own ideas, let's connect! 💛

MISSION

The Homer City Mutual Aid & Arts Collective exists to nurture a culture of care, creativity, & solidarity throughout Indiana County. As a community-driven grassroots group, we hold space for meaningful relationships, shared learning, & community-led projects that nurture resilience & spark transformation. Through arts, mutual aid, skill sharing, & everyday acts of care, we work together to imagine & build a better world rooted in trust, collaboration, & collective liberation.

VISION

We envision a community where people move at the speed of trust, not urgency, where art, mutual aid, & connection are woven into daily life. We are not here to replicate traditional systems or hierarchies but to co-create something different. This collective is for anyone seeking a space to belong, share their gifts, learn together, & care for one another.

Our vision is shaped by the long-standing movements of BIPOC, queer, disabled, & working-class organizers who have always led the way in building community care. We honor their legacy by practicing it in real-time. Inspired by the words of bell hooks, adrienne maree brown, James Baldwin, Audre Lorde, Grace Lee Boggs, Mariame Kaba, & so many others.

We believe in starting where we are & creating what we want to see in the world by building it successfully within our communities first.
